Audubon Spring Creek Prairie, Lancaster County, Nebraska. A blanket of fresh snow covers Spring Creek Prairie, an 808-acre tallgrass prairie nature preserve located southwest of Lincoln, Nebraska. Spring Creek Prairie was created to foster the understanding, appreciation, and conservation of Nebraska's tallgrass prairie by engaging visitors in the site's natural and cultural resources. It is home to miles of walking trails, nearly 650 acres of native (never plowed) tallgrass prairie, ponds and wetlands, wildflowers and grasses, a diverse assortment of birds and other wildlife, historic wagon ruts, peaceful surroundings, and beautiful scenic vistas.
