011 SMALL BUT MIGHTY - SEDGE WREN

Add to Cart Add to Lightbox Download
Little Salt Marsh Preserve, Southeast Nebraska. Sitting on its wetland perch in a salt marsh, a sedge wren proclaims its territory. Each spring, male sedge wrens select mating territories and defend them with vigor. They also build about 5-6 courting nests to entice a mate. Once the female pairs with the male, she selects one of the nests by adding her own lining, or she will build a new nest of her own.
