007 THE CROSSING - RED FOX
Red Fox - Fontenelle Forest, Nebraska. A mother red fox pauses on a railroad track in a Missouri River floodplain forest before heading back to her nearby den of four pups. Red Foxes are ubiquitous through all but the driest parts of the Great Plains and live in a variety of habitats. Known for their cleverness, they seem to prosper in areas altered by man and play a significant role controlling rodent populations.
